The road less travelled

There comes a time when the right thing to do, is....nothing. When your thinking is muddled and you have no answers, step back from the issue, and look at it 'as if' it didn't belong to you. Objectively it's a whole lot easier to seperate the ' wood from the trees '.

Where am I right now?

  1. Nursing an ongoing injury in back of my head, with great care
  2. Ingesting antibiotics for short of another two weeks. Taking pain pills for a massive headache that I've had for many days now. General feeling of malaise which is very unlike me.
  3. Unable to do any resistance training
  4. All of the above affects my emotional wellbeing

What do I do about it?

  1. Nothing I can do about 1 & 2 except continue the healing
  2. Step back to the beginning and start walking again together with flexibility and core training
  3. Change my attitude with prayer and focussing on helping others. Be grateful for all that I do have which is a lot.

In a month or two this will all be over and I will be heading onward and upward with a solid foundation on which to build a new me which will be far better than the old one.

How does this affect my "superchallenge" goal. Well clearly I am not going to reach my goal by Christmas so I've decided to ' suspend ' it until I'm ready to start training and then ' reinstate ' it.

I feel OK about that too because ' Life is a journey ' not a ' destination '.

It doesn't matter how many times I get knocked down, as long as I keep getting up ' I am a winner '. I will never give up.

Spoken like a true Champion Of Life.

You give an impressive snapshot of how a Champion thinks, even when he or she doesn't know what to do or have all the answers.

I had many trophies, but not one of them can give the wisdom that this mentor teaches.

If you read my blog of yesterday, I mentioned wanting to know more about you guys. YOU Dougal, win the gold star. You always let us know how you are and how you feel. It´s wonderful to be able to see where you are and that you are still hanging around with us on your journey. I wish that you didn´t have all this around your neck, but it´s just a bit of time to get it sorted out once and for all. Things do get so complicated don´t they? Love your attitude. Best that you can possibly do right now is to sit back, and let things take care of themselves. Will be wishing you all the BEST, as always.
YOU are one to copy. You are the Super Guy!

I really admire the way you think in the face of your challenges. One day when I'm stuck, I'll re-read this post (and the ones before it) and know how I should be looking at things.

Dougal, I printed the following sentence of yours and have it in my diary now:

It doesn't matter how many times I get knocked down, as long as I keep getting up ' I am a winner '. I will never give up.

You are a wise man, a chief, an admirable soul from which I am learning day by day. So good to have you here...YES.YOU ARE A WINNER!!! You will reach your goal sooner than you belive. Becasue you are a winner,

Dougal, you are the epitome of steadfastness in times of trouble!

Yes, we can all say, "this too shall pass"...but being in the midst of it like you are, AND sharing the positive attitude that you do, IS helping others!

You will be in my prayers...

Margaret
