THE CRUSADES - by dougal macdonald Chief Evangalist - 2nd 28 day | Day 7

Very busy day today, got up early, checked mail, did some stuff around the house, went to the gym to train, then to the store for some supplies...sounds like I'm a bear hunter in Alaska stocking up for the winter.

Phoned Madiba, that's Nelson Mandela to you, to wish him a very happy 90th birthday. I'm kidding, not about the birthday but the phone call..I wish I could phone him. I mean c'mon 90 years old.

Isn't it amazing to think that one of the most influential statesmen in history spent 28 years of his life in prison on a remote island before anybody really took any notice of him.

He then comes out of prison and in a very short space of time becomes President of a large country. His work managed to create a role model for democracy. The rainbow Nation.

Now what has this got to do with you. EVERYTHING.

If you don't believe that consistency to purpose and daily belief in a long term goal can work, read this post again.

It took the man more than the 28 years but he never gave up, never.

What a giant.

Madiba, I salute you, happy birthday Sir.

I'm ashamed to say that I don't really know much about Mr. Mandela. Of course, I know what's been in the media, but I don't really know the HISTORY....I think that will be something I'm going to work on!

Shari, google him, that'll give you a heads up

Dougal,

I wish I could simply call this icon of freedom. I met Madiba's wife on a function at the UCT in Cape Town once, she is amazing...and who can marry two presidents, ;-)...

I will cook tonight weraing my Mandela-aprol (got it a Pick 'n Pay, hahaha) and will think of you as well.

Mandela,he is pure grace and love.

Thank you for reminding me of him today.

Did you ask your doctor about the singing and ringing and clicking in your head?

Have a nice start into your weekend.

will you start with a G & T and a braai?

Lots here in the news about Mandela too. I will also Google him...don´t know much except that Oprah raves and raves. Does that count?

Juli, ok, now you've got my interest...When were you in SA and what for. Did you live here? G&T and a Braai. Well the Braai certainly. Sunday with a whole bunch of friends. Don't you miss that?

Thank you Michael.

Lynda, Oprah's raving raises his profile somewhat amongst female america but but he doesn't need that. The man is an icon for world peace all by himself. Do some research, you'll be impressed.
