My fifteen week journey back to Perfect Health "THE SUPER CHALLENGE"

Week 2 Day 5

What's going on in my head?

I got another spark when reading an article today which really made me think. Who we are is logically the sum total of our self image. In other words " As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." So....when you set goals for yourself and don't achieve them, why is that? Because by it's very nature a goal should be something outside of your grasp, otherwise it's not going to present much of a challenge, therefore your self image needs to match the enormity of the goal.

Simply put 'you need to elevate your self image from the get go in order to believe you can reach the goal.'

If you don't believe and you don't make, or bail on the goal, your self image takes a knock. Each time this happens you go " you see, I knew I couldn't really do it. I don't know why I bother."

When Michael Phelps started winning races and his coach told him he could be a world champion believe me he started believing with everything he had that he COULD be the most dynamic swimmer on the planet, and so he is.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

Don't sell yourself short... you are a wonderful, fantastic, unique human being with amazing talents, start believing in yourself and put those talents to good use helping others and just watch how your life changes overnight.

SUMMARY

Sticks and stones will break my bones but words can never harm me. A knee jerk reaction to that would be "what was the guy smoking when he wrote that." Actually he's right if you have the self image to deal with that kind of stuff. If you havn't, get working on becoming the wonderful, incredible human being that you are.

Dougal, loved that comment about needing to elevate your self-image in order to believe you can get to goal. So true. Haven't thought of it in a while. Thanks for sharing.

Best blog yet, as made me think that I DO need to think and act on that. I do plan on doing what you suggested, and will work on a bigger goal. Will tell you WHEN it comes to pass. Thanx for pushing us on to higher levels!

Great post! This is the kind of stuff that people need to hear! They need to know that they are WORTH the hard work, and they need to change their mental pictures of themselves!

I think it would be a great time to watch the Olympics on the couch today! Go USA! Woohoo--Michael Phelps!
